"Parenting - the Early Years" by Les & Leslie Parrott

  April 18th - May 23rd during the 10:50 Sunday School hour!

  

  Ginger Forbes will facilitate the study during this special 6-week class.  Go to the bottom right of this website:     http://www.bluefishtv.com/Store/Browse/Marriage_and_Parenting to see a trailer.  It is a very practical, timely study    that will lead you through 10 Biblical traits that your kids will remember you for.  The study is appropriate for parents with children from birth through elementary school.   To sign up for this class please call the church office at 671-1885. 

 

 

Coming Summer 2010!!!

 

     Kidshine will direct a week-long Performing Arts Day Camp, ending with a musical presentation on Friday evening.  The goal of the performing arts day camp is to provide a means for participants to explore and use their talents in a Christian atmosphere which is caring, fun and mutually encouraging.  Your kids will not want to miss this week!  Before you plan your summer vacation, mark these dates on your calendar!!

               Join us for lunch after church and help to beautify the courtyard of the nursing home next door.
  • Sunday, April 18-May 23-Elective Sunday School
              For six weeks at the 10:50 Sunday School hour, Ginger Forbes will be facilitating "Parenting-The Early Years"by Drs. Les and Leslie Parrott             
                                       
  • Monday-Friday, June 7-11-Family Mission Trip to Harlan, Ky.
    Families stay together at a hotel and work during the day at Black Mountain School.                                     
  • Wednesday, June 16-Craft Day-11:00 am-1:00 pm
               Bring a sack lunch with your children and join in to learn a new craft.                              
  • Friday, June 25-Movie Night
     Bring the whole family and join us in the new state of the art Youth Room.  Popcorn is on us!!

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Art during 9:30 Sunday School (K-5) - Volunteers are needed to teach with other team members.   Sundays may be rotated.
  • Games during 9:30 Sunday School (K-5) - One person is needed to assist with teaching.
  • Additional Shepherd during the 9:30 Sunday School hour for the Kindergarten/1st grade class. (No Teaching Responsibility!!)

Nursery Angels are Needed!!!

Easter Sunday will be here before you know it and lots of children will be coming!

12 nursery angels are still needed.  This is a great opportunity to serve as a family and we would welcome all of your extra loving hands.  You may worship at the hour you are not serving in the nursery.  Please call the church office if you are available to serve.  Thank you for your servant hearts!

 

 Midweek Manna is on Wednesday Evenings from February 17th - March 24th

  • 4:30-5:30 - Puppet Practice for 3rd - 5th graders
  • 5:30-6:00 — Snack Supper for puppeteers attending the evening program
  • 6:00-7:30 - Kidmo and Choir                 

 

Our Model...

With the Lord Jesus Christ as our model, we place a top priority on ministry to our children. We help children develop Bible knowledge and teach them how to apply their faith to everyday life. Our desire is to reach every child for Christ and as a church family, guide and support them as they begin their walk with the Lord. We provide Sunday School for ages 2 years through 5th grade. Our Workshop Rotation Sunday school provides a multi-sensory experience through multiple classes. Each Bible study or topic is taught through five methods: art, drama, games, computer and video workshops. Each rotation the children are asked to learn a Bible memory verse which coincides with the story.

  

Other Ministries:

  • Children's Church — Kindergarten to 2nd grade; available during each worship service
  • Junior Leaders — 5th grade leaders serve in the Children's Area
  • Puppet Team — 3rd, 4th and 5th graders present puppet shows in the community
  • Mission of Hope — outreach to Black Mountain Elementary School in Harlan County, KY
