PIERCED FOR OUR TRANSGRESSION - Led by Matthew Stephens
Location - Classroom A/B
“But he was pierced for our transgression; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.” The glorious truth of the sacrificial, substitutionary atonement of Christ is the bedrock of the Christian faith. However, since the late 20th century and into today, this beautiful doctrine has come under attack. What used to be limited to academia has now found its way into books, articles, podcasts, and even pulpits across the world. Some go so far as to call it “a form of cosmic child abuse.” In this 15 week study we will journey through the book called Pierced for Our Transgressions and consider the biblical witness to this doctrine, the theological framework of the doctrine, and the historical pedigree of this truth. We will also consider various objections to this doctrine and how to respond to them with gentleness and respect.
ESCHATOLOGY - Led by David Forbes

In this class, we will focus on the “end times.” We will discuss the end of the present world and human history, the looking forward to the return of Christ, as well as, the ultimate destiny of mankind.
SELECTIONS FROM THE GOSPEL OF MATTHEW - Led by Andrew Halbert, Chris Pifer & Ron Turnbow
Location - Choir Room
Matthew's gospel is the first New Testament book and the first of the four gospel accounts of Christ's life and ministry. This account gives Jewish perspective on Christ's life and his fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies and promises of the coming Messiah. This fall, we will cover selected portions of Matthew's gospel that explore the important themes Matthew presents to demonstrate that Christ was indeed the promised Messiah.

FACING THE LAST ENEMY: DEATH AND THE CHRISTIAN - Led by Jon Shugart
Location - Classroom A/B
Though we all know that we will face death, most of us really don't want to talk about it, or even think about it. Most people in our culture tend to live like we think we will never die. "Facing the Last Enemy" brings us face to face with death: what it is, why it happens, how to prepare for it, and how to minister to others who are grieving or dying. Far from being a dark and depressing study, "Facing the Last Enemy" brings us hope, built upon our faith in the One who conquered death on our behalf. Please join us!
THE KINGDOM OF GOD - Led by Joel McCall
Location - Classroom C/D
The most frequent words on Jesus’ lips were “The Kingdom of God,” but few in the modern church define it well. Since the Old Testament, Yahweh revealed Himself as the God who comes to us as King. Is the kingdom delayed, present, or future? Many have divided this into different meanings and phases in time and eternity. This class will explore eternity’s invasion of space and time and will redefine our understanding of Christianity. Come and see what this means for you.
THE BOOK OF ISAIAH - Led by Chris Jaeger
Location - Classroom E
The fall excursion in our Sunday Bible study gathering will be an examination of Isaiah. We will be aided in our study by Raymond Ortlund, Jr.'s commentary, Isaiah: God Saves Sinners. Ortlund described Isaiah as "widely considered to be the deepest, richest, and most theologically significant book in the Old Testament." Join us as we examine God's revelation of Himself to us through the prophet Isaiah.
