Alex Halbert family july21

Warmest greetings from the whole Halbert family. We are so excited to get to share with you all that the Lord has been doing since our last update just 2 short months ago.

In case you were wondering, yes, the title of this email did say “stolen car”. The day after we sent our last update we had our car stolen. We were in between support visits and stopped in Cincinnati to watch the Braves play the Reds for William’s 5th birthday. We stayed the night in a hotel and got up the next morning to find that the car was gone. The van wasn’t ours. It is owned by Righteous Rides, an organization that helps provide vehicles for missionaries. Thankfully, most all of our stuff was in the hotel with us. We lost a few sentimental times, but not much that couldn’t be replaced. The police eventually found the car several weeks later in another part of Cincinnati. We are still working with insurance to get the car back to Righteous Rides and hopefully it will all be settled in the next week or so. It has been a bit of a headache, but it could have been much worse. The Braves won the game we attended, so all in all, William had a good Birthday.

In our last update we asked you to pray about the quick return of our passports. We had heard that it was taking 3-6 months to get one. We are very pleased to share that Wallace’s came back just 5 weeks after submitting it and Maggie's and mine came a couple of weeks ago. We didn’t even have to pay for them to be expedited. What an answer to prayer.

We are also very excited to share that we have been approved to move to language school. What a great blessing from the Lord. We will be attending language school in Guanajuato, Mexico, a city where Maggie and I had previously worked before we had children. We will be leaving the US on September 15th, just a few short weeks away. We are now in the process of packing and saying our goodbyes. We can’t tell you how pleased we are to be making this transition. We are so grateful for your continued support through prayer and finances and are beyond excited to finally share this news with you. Our kids are full of emotions too. Watch this short video to hear a little more from our kids.

Praise
-Praise the Lord that our passports came back just in time to purchase tickets for Mexico.
-Praise the Lord that we have been approved to make the transition to language school and that we are that much closer to getting to Honduras.
-Praise the Lord for his graciousness to us throughout the whole stolen car situation. As we said earlier, it could have been a much more difficult situation. Righteous Rides has been extremely helpful and we are very grateful for that.
-We are very grateful for the timing of this transition. We have already had a number of opportunities to say goodbye well to a number of people. What a blessing that has been.

Prayer
-Please pray for our family over the coming months as we transition out of the US to Mexico and then eventually to Honduras. Pray specifically for Warren. He seems to have become the most attached to Alex’s parents home and we think he may struggle most with the transition.
-Pray that we would be able to accomplish all the little details of moving a family and still be gracious to each other in the process.
 - would ask that you pray about housing in Mexico. We won’t have a vehicle in Mexico and need to find a place within walking distance of the school we will be attending.
-We still have a few churches considering us for support in the coming months. Please pray for our continued funding.

Much love & prayers,
Alex, Maggie,
Emma Kate, William, Warren & Wallace
