60% & Gaining

We are so grateful for the the Lord's great provision during our transition from UWM to MTW.  Even amidst the pandemic, a majority of our financial supporters have been able to make the transition with us.  We just gained another supporting church and are praying a few more will join us in coming months.  We are still prayerful and hopeful that the Lord will provide all our monthly support by the end of the year.  We would love if you would pray with us towards that same end.

Currently we are reaching out to churches and individuals who we know have a passion to see the church in Honduras strengthened and grow.  We are praying that the Church in Honduras might be deeply rooted in the Word of the Lord.  We are also working through a couple of courses that MTW requires we complete before departing for the field.

 Facebook Page

Our current facebook page is called Cape Town Bound.  Since that is no longer the case, we are looking for a new facebook page name and would love your creative help.  Email us back with your good ideas and the person whose idea we use will get a gift box with the the items in the picture below.  Since there are already other Halberts in Honduras, we would like to stay away from names like "Halberts in Honduras" or "Honduran Halberts". We are really excited to read all the great ideas that you come up with.

 Family Update

It has been a season of firsts for our family over the past few months.  Both Emma Kate and William have started school and are seeming to enjoy the change of pace and connection they are getting with other kids.  Emma Kate also started ballet once a week and William is playing t-ball.  He was especially excited when he found out he was on the Braves.   They are both loving it.  Emma Kate did question her choice of ballet when she saw the post game snack that William and his team got.  Warren is adjusting to the added attention he is getting and working hard on growing more teeth.  Alex and Maggie are doing well, encouraged about the gain in support, and hopeful for a departure in early 2021.  Some of the challenges we have faced over the past few months that have been enhanced by the addition of the pandemic are the living in uncertainty and how best to put down roots knowing that a transition is coming soon.  We share this not as a complaint but as a reality of where we currently find ourselves.  While we are hopeful and prayerful, we don't know exactly how the next few months will play out.  We both like to have a plan and living in the uncertainty of when we will raise our full funding, what will the world look like when we do, what will language school look like, and many more similar questions to which we don't have the answers has proven to both encourage us and force us to trust the Lord, but has also proven trying at times.  We realize that much of the world is feeling similar.  Please pray that we are able to trust in the Lord and his great goodness amidst the uncertainty.  We would ask that you also pray for wisdom as the whole family navigates new relationships here in the US with the knowledge of the coming transition.

 Praise

  • Praise the Lord funding is coming in.  We are so grateful that amidst the pandemic the Lord has chosen to increase our funding.
  • Thank the Lord that Emma Kate and William are able to go to school and attend extracurricular activities.  I think these will be memories that they hold for a long time.

Prayer

  • Please pray that we are able to continue to gain funding.  Please continue to pray towards a departure date of early 2021.
  • We ask that you continue to pray that we would rest more deeply in the sovereignty of the Lord.  We asked you to pray this back in March and would ask you to continue to pray this way.
