Dan and Susan Steere - ELI West Africa

We jumped right into stateside ministry as soon as I returned from Ghana in February.  Susan and I visited several of our supporting churches, and while our home church searched for a Senior Pastor, I was blessed to be able to preach a number of times, continuing a study in Colossians I began last year. March through May, I also had the privilege of teaching a Reformation History class at Reformed Theological Seminary in Atlanta.  Just recently, Susan and I were able to take some time to travel to Arizona and Utah to rest and see some of God’s beautiful handiwork.  These opportunities were wonderful, but I’m ready to return to Africa!

Summer Trip to Ghana
Marriage Conferences and Doctrine of the Church
I will be leaving for Ghana on June 22 for two weeks of conferences and teaching.  The February marriage conference we held in Accra was so well-received that the Ghana Baptist Convention has asked us to return and teach in two separate locations so that more local leaders can have the opportunity to hear this material. So, the first week of the trip, I will be in Accra and Aflao (on the border with Togo) teaching conferences on Biblical Marriage for the GBC.  Praise God!  Please join us in prayer that our gracious Father will bless the teaching of his word in the marriages and ministries of these dear brothers and sisters.

As I mentioned in my February field report, the students at the Kumasi MINTS program asked us to increase the number of classes we teach each year.  So while I’m teaching marriage, Stan Armes and Don Mountan will be teaching MINTS classes.  Don will return home after the first week, and I will join Stan in Kumasi where both he and I will teach a MINTS class for the second week.  I’ll be teaching Doctrine of the Church.  Again, pray for the students and for us teachers as we work through the class material.  We’re hoping that adding this third yearly session will move the students toward their degree more rapidly.

As you can see, the opportunities for ministry in Ghana have increased dramatically.  So, we have added this summer trip and we plan to continue this pattern in the future.  It’s a sign of God’s blessing that we have more ministry to accomplish than our current schedule can accommodate!

Thank you for being an active part of this work.  We always depend on your prayers as we travel and minister overseas.  We are so thankful for you!

For Christ’s Kingdom,
Dan
