Transition for Kathy

Kathy has finished her full-time teaching here at CIT with the completion of this first summer training term. She has been feeling for some time that it is time for her to step back from this teaching position. We have been looking and praying for a replacement for her teen class and now God has provided a very capable person to fill this role! It is a bittersweet moment for Kathy as she dearly loves working with kids. She will be continuing on as the Third Culture Kid Program Director for a while longer overseeing all of the kid’s training.  However, she hopes to be releasing this responsibility as well when the Lord provides. She is looking forward to being able to spend more time with the grandkids, traveling with George, and ministering more in our neighborhood.

Quotes from recent students of Kathy after arriving on the field:
"As our transition is in full swing here, I got my verses out in my quiet time today and reviewed them! Thanks so much Mrs. Kat for this resource!"
"Thanks for teaching me about spiritual warfare and how Satan uses fear - thanks for 2 Timothy 1:7.

George's Surgery

In June George had nasal surgery to repair a severely deviated septum.  It apparently worked as Kathy says he doesn't snore like he used to!

At our recent staff meeting with 30 people in the room it was visible how much our staff has grown.  Wow!  God has surely grown this ministry!

CIT Staff Growth

CIT staff continues to grow with the expansion of our program into new areas:
CIT Next - online training
CIT Global - assisting nationals in developing missionary training in their local  contexts.  Opportunities in China, Cuba, and Mexico already.
CIT Church - assisting the North American Church

Executive Director Change

With the growth of CIT our current part-time Executive Director feels he can no longer provide all that is needed to lead the ministry forward. He sees the need for a full-time Director. We are praying the Lord will provide a new director by the end of this calendar year. A meeting has been scheduled on August 18 with our various department heads and the CIT Advisory Board to consider leadership succession. Please pray with us about this.

Master Plan

As you know we have been developing a new Site Master Plan. To date, it is still in the planning stage awaiting necessary approvals.

Bicycles Needed

For those of you who live in relative close proximity to us, CIT could really use a nuber of bicycles for our students and their kids to use.  What we have is in very poor condition, many are unusable and should be taken to the dump. Would you or your church be willing to locate and donate some good used bicycles to CIT? We need bikes of all sized... maybe even a scooter or two!

Recent Adult Student Quotes

Came to CIT because my agency required it. Changed my mind after the first 30 minutes of our first day. It was worth it all. We are so glad we came! NC – Mongolia

Because I had previous cross-cultural experience and good cross-cultural training as well as training in areas such as personality types and interpersonal skills, I underestimated how much I would learn at CIT. Learning activities, simulations, case studies, and the testimonies of the facilitators enriched the topics in a way that drove points home and helped me apply the information in a new way. While this course teaches about working cross-culturally, it actually aims to give you the spiritual resilience to be successful in a cross-cultural setting. The various elements of the course force you to examine your cultural and ministerial expectations, grapple with the reality of life in the field, all the while reaffirming your identity in Christ in light of the gospel. My eyes were opened to how much I need to humble myself, and how ineffective my ministry would have been, and how small my love would have seen, for the people I am going to. I was taught how I can effectively humble myself, how I can honor the host culture when I probably would have dishonored them unknowingly. I learned some invaluable lessons and my eyes were opened to my hidden assumptions that could be fatal to Christian ministry.  SK - UgandaT

Thank You

Kathy and I want to thank you so much for your ongoing encouragement and support in this ministry. Together we are touching and impacting the world
