 October/November 2020

After months of extreme lockdown, Honduras is now experiencing the effects of a hit from Hurricane Eta.  There have been massive floodings and landslides. With heavy hearts, we have watched photos and videos being posted of washed out bridges, flooded streets, homes with only rooftops showing, first responders rescuing stranded persons, and so much more that has left our hearts broken.

After 36 hours of no contact, we began hearing from our team.  They are all safe, for which we are praising the LORD!  They are all dealing with roof leaks, but that is minor in comparison with what many Hondurans are dealing with. After several days of prayers, emails, and conversations assessing the situation -John and I will be taking a short trip to Honduras on this Thursday and returning next Tuesday.  To see our team's faces will relieve our hearts, but seeing the devastation in person will no doubt burden our hearts even more for the country and people we dearly love.

  • Please be praying for us as we prepare and travel to Honduras.
  • Please pray for Evan's heart as he remains here in TX with Abi while we go.
  • Please pray for Abi, Bek and Siah as I know their hearts too are burden for their country.
  • Please pray for our teammates as they are weary from lockdown and now burden for those devastated.
  • PLEASE PRAY FOR HONDURAS AND HER PEOPLE

The Cains have already been purchasing food bags and distributing them.  That will continue, as will other needs as they are assessed: water, food, dry mattresses, possible construction of homes, etc...  our teams in both La Ceiba and in Teguc are in the beginning stages of assessing how best to start meeting the massive needs.  As the days and weeks move forward, we will keep you updated as to what the teams are doing.  Of course, after our trip we should have more info to share with you as well.   If you want to begin donating to the relief fund,  you can do so online by clicking the link below.
