July/August 2020

Our plan was to be home in Honduras by now. Sitting on our front porch drinking coffee, praying for and planning out our day and what the LORD would have us do.  Instead, the LORD had a different plan.  His plan is for us to remain in the States for this entire year.  A few weeks ago we officially made this season our HMA (home ministry assignment).

Our plan was to have our HMA, next year during Evan's freshman year of college.  Instead, the LORD's plan is for us to be here for his senior year of high school.  He has been accepted to a special program (part of the public school system) here in TX.  We see God's hand in all of this and rest in the peace that God knows exactly what He is doing!

We sit on our new front porch in TX and drink our coffee and pray for and plan out our day.  What's that looking like for us? John still has lots of admin work that he continues to do as leader for Honduras.  In addition, he is planning out our travels to visit churches and supporters.  He will also be contacting new churches to share the ministry.  We currently have two new churches that we will be meeting with in hopes that they will join our support team.  I continue to help John as he needs with communication to churches and supporters.  I have also taken on a role with MTW Member Care, serving other MTW missionaries within Central America.

Our plan is to be able to return to Honduras at the end of next summer, after Evan is settled into college.  We hope and pray that this will also be the LORD's plan.  We will be unable to return until we are fully funded in financial support.  At this time we are in need of $1,000 a month in support.

Ventura and Candi and their kids will be moving to the capital city of Teguc as soon as the LORD allows!  We are so excited for the call the LORD has placed on their lives.  It's been a joy to watch their journey unfold. Ventura will intern with the Church for two years.  They have already been doing all they can virtually to connect and be involved.

Not much has changed for Honduras.  The country remains on lockdown with the people only being allowed out of their homes 1 day every two weeks.  The weeks have dragged into months.  The weariness of our teammates ways heavy on our hearts.  The devastation this prolonged lock down has and continues to do to the country is incomprehensible.  It is projected that it will take over 5 years just to get back to the 'normal' level of poverty before COVID began.

PRAYERS:
*wisdom in all things
*our HMA year and raising support
*encouragement for our team mates
*our beloved Honduras and her people
*growth for the Presbyterian Church in Honduras
