The Clow Communicator - May/June 2018

Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love Him and keep His commandments, to a thousand generations.  Deuteronomy 7:9 ESV

Summer Interns are a blessing! Over the last 15 years we have had a LOT of summer interns.  I am blessed that there are still quite a few that I am able to keep up with (thanks to FB). I am guessing a few of you reading this were once an intern with us!  This summer we get Sarah and Barrett.  They have done an amazing job over their last several weeks with us.  It's hard to believe we only get them for a few more short weeks. Please pray for their remaining time here and for their hearts as they return to college and process all that they experienced this summer.

Peter Project was approved for a 1:1matching grant!  We are need of financial help for this ministry, so this is a great blessing.  You can read about it in the PP Newsletter HERE.
Praise: For the summer teams and the encouragement they have been to the project and the boys.
Prayer: The LORD would grab the hearts of these boys and give them hearts who desire to seek Him.

Door of Hope (PDE) Just last week the new girl mentioned in the last newsletter FINALLY moved into the home.  She is 7 months pregnant.  You can read the latest PDE news HERE.
Praise: Eliana is WALKING!  Read about it in the newsletter!!!
Prayer: That the harmony will continue with the transition of the new girl and soon to be new baby in the home.

Medical Ministry We are still waiting on Roger's medical paperwork in order to be able to reopen the clinic.  BUT WE ARE SO THANKFUL HE IS BACK! And....Jandery is pregnant! So, team La Ceiba continues to grow!
Praise: That we are seeing movement forward in the legal paperwork dept and not a complete standstill.
Prayer: For a healthy pregnancy for Jandery (Roger's wife)

Seminario Biblico La Ceiba (SBLC) Classes continue to go well and move forward.  Classes are now being held in our own facility.  There is still inside construction detail as well as furniture to be completed -- but it's nice to be in our own place!
Praise: The LORD's faithfulness to bring to fruition years of hard work and planning.
Prayer: The LORD would grow the seminary and add more students to come study His Word.

Summer Teams are here! We hosted a very unique team in June.  A week long MTW MK (missionary kid) mission trip.  MK's from the Americas (Josiah and Evan and Dixi participated as a team member!) as well as MTW Next Missionaries served here in LA Ceiba.  They worked at the PDE and PP as well as lots of painting!
Praise: For Adam and Michelle Cain and their leadership in the short term team director role!
Prayer: For the team currently here and the teams to follow - for safety and for the LORD to work through their sacrifice and service.

Our Family

John: Has been a busy man trying to get the final construction finished and focus on leading our family and the team.  Please pray for wisdom for him and health for his body.
Kathy: I won't lie - it's been a really hard adjustment not having Elias, he left our home on June 14th.  But I so feel the peace that passes understanding and I know that is from the prayers of you all.  Please continue to pray for us as we adjust.
Abigail: She finished her freshman year of college in May and was with us for most of June. She is currently serving as an intern in Belgium with MTW.  Pray for her as she spends the month mentoring and teaching future MTW MK's.
Rebekah: She too was with us for most of June and then she left us on the 20th to start her first semester of college.  She is attending Western Carolina, taking English and Global Issues this summer. Pray that she will do well in her classes. Pray that God will provide good Godly friends for her.
Josiah: He GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL! Even though we get to keep him around with us for another 6 months or so, it is still bittersweet knowing he is finished with high school.  He will be in the States for the month of August visiting the colleges he as applied to.   Please pray for wisdom for him as he makes his decision.
Evan: The last one standing. LOL! He has mixed emotions about being left alone with his parents. He will be going into his 10th year.
Pray that the LORD would grab ahold of him and change his heart and make him into a mighty Godly man.
Elias: It's hard for me to not include him - he will always be family!  We hear that he is doing well and is happy in his new living situation.  Please always pray for his tender heart!

We are sad that we were unable to celebrate Josiah's graduation with friends and family in the States, but we are so very thankful for our family and friends here in La Ceiba who celebrated with us.   Josiah will be in the States for the first three weeks in August.  If you would like to send him a graduation card and words of encouragement I know it would mean a lot to him.  It is sometimes hard for him/us to see his friends and their families (Latin families celebrate together: grandparents, aunts, uncles cousins!!!!) all together at these milestone events.  Hearing from you would be a huge encouragement to him.

We have been contacting new churches as we are in need of ongoing monthly support.  Please pray with us that the LORD would add new supporters to our team. John will be in the States for the entire month of August, in part to help raise our support.
