News from Honduras?

Slowly things are reopening in Honduras.  We smile when we see a picture of our teammates out and about (still masked up).  The ministries in La Ceiba are not back to 'normal', but better than what it was a year ago!
- Peter Project continues to 'go out' and minister to the boys and their families on the streets.  As of right now the center itself is not open.
- The clinic is by appointment only for the established patients Dr Roger serves.
- The Bible Institute has resumed classes with a few students.
- The PDE currently only has one girl and her young son
- This month the Church in Tegucigalpa celebrated 4 years meeting corporately.  All glory to God for her amazing growth.

This precious teenage mom (above) has lived and endured things that no one should. By God's grace and His redemption, she and her son are growing, healing and learning daily. She currently is the only mom residing in the home, and therefore has the sole attention of the house mom. Very soon a summer intern will be arriving in La Ceiba and working with both mom and boy.

Only God!

Just a few weeks ago the handsome boy pictured was diagnosed as profoundly deaf. It was devastating news to receive and we grieve that yet another 'hit' has come to them. We could choose to focus on the losses, the hurts and the hard road ahead that they face. Instead this is what we see:
-John and I spent our first term with MTW in a deaf ministry
-Our team mate, Michelle Cain, worked with the deaf prior to joining MTW and is fluent in Sign Language.
-Alma (director of the girl's home) had some training years ago in sign language before joining our team.
-The intern coming to work with PDE this summer...is majoring in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences.

Before that precious boy was even born God knew. Years in the making He was preparing all that would be needed. ONLY GOD could orchestrate this summer so that mom and boy would have the sole attention of so many ready to teach them a language, allowing them to communicate.

PRAYERS

1. Pray for safety as we travel and visit churches and share about the LORD's work in Honduras.
2. Pray for the growth of the Church in Honduras.
3. Pray for wisdom as we begin to plan our move back to Honduras in the early fall.
4. For our hearts as we prepare to leave our kids in the States and become empty nesters in Honduras.
