Landed in La Ceiba

On the 19th of October we made it home.  All 8 bags in tow.  Nothing was lost and nothing was taxed.  This was a huge answer to prayer.  We rented a truck and made the three hour drive ‘home’.  Home was a small dark apartment that was really only meant to be a cheap holding cell for our belongings.  We had a bed to sleep in, a makeshift kitchen, and rocking chairs to sit and drink our coffee.  But, we were anxious to find a home and settle.  We started the very next day looking for houses.  We found one that was in the perfect location and a GREAT price.  The problem was, the owner REALLY wanted to sell.  He asked us to give him until December 1st and then if he didn’t sell it, he would rent it to us.  We continued searching for houses for the next three days.  Discouraged about sums up how we were feeling.  The apartment was depressing and we were missing our kids.  So, we asked several of you to pray.

On Saturday the 23rd we made an impulse decision to drive to Teguc (capital city 6 hours away).  We attended the Church there and it did wonders for our souls!  The Church is flourishing; outgrowing their current facility.  It is so exciting to see the growth.  We enjoyed the Sabbath with some sweet fellowship.  On Monday afternoon we received a message from the owner of the house that we really wanted to rent. He accepted to allow us to go ahead and rent! He asked for a few days to get things together which was fine, because we were 6 hours away and needed to do things in the city with residency as well as some shopping.   We returned to La Ceiba on Wednesday and on Thursday signed a contract.  The LORD has been so kind and gracious and faithful in His provisions for us.  The house is way more than we expected or hoped for.  To HIM be the honor and glory for His abundant provisions.

We are seeing first hand how the pandemic has effected ministry here.  It’s hard to not dwell on “how it was before”; trying to make it work the way it did pre-Covid.  The whole world is learning the new normal.  The same is true for the ministry here.  We covet your prayers for wisdom as the team works together, growing in unity, to determine the correct path for the how/where/why/when in regards to our new normal.
