Student Story

This is A.J. Stearns, an Eastern Kentucky University student. He’s a freshman majoring in Accounting and Computer Science.. I have the pleasure of leading A.J. in a Freshmen Bible study.

A.J. attended Winter Conference 2019 in Greensboro, NC. At this conference, he followed a path called Multiply, which is an intentionally-designed conference experience that prepares students to make an impact for Christ on their campus.

At Winter Conference, A.J. grew in his understanding of God’s plan. Specifically, he learned how to speak to others about Jesus and to trust God with the results. As A.J. says, “You’re not going to make somebodybecome a Christian, but you do have to give  them the message.” Remember that Jesus declares, "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him" (John 6:44). Praise the Lord that A.J. is growing in reaching others around him.

Prayer Requests

Gospel Proclamation- please pray that our staff will help lead students in presenting the message of salvation in Christ. Spring semester is so key in this process.

Local Church- pray that our ministry will serve to funnel students into our home church, Ashland. The para-church exists to serve the local church.

Endurance- this is a personal request. The church in America is rife with pragmatism, ungodliness, and Biblical infidelity. These problems weigh heavily on my soul as I strive to honor God according to the Bible while seeing denominations, institutions, and individuals embrace godless ideologies such as critical race theory. We guarantee the death of the church when we fail to confront and correct falsehood. Please pray for my own endurance. I am praying for yours as well.
