Keeping up with Jonah & Jennifer

Fear not, for I am with you;
    be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)

Dear Brothers and Sisters in the Lord,
Greetings to you in the most powerful Name of the Lord!

At a time of discomfort and fear of the enemy, what a joy to remember the divine presence with us ‘I am with you’ a huge personal commitment of our loving Father ‘I am your God’ therefore we must keep in mind this very command of God, “Fear not, for I am with you”. ‘Yes, I will strengthen you! Indeed I will help you! Why! Because His Promises are true and we can put our faith in our Father.  We must keep our focus on His changelessness.

Ministry Matters
Praise:
We praise God for you and your family for your prayerful partnership in standing with us in Church Planting (Gospel Planting) ministry in Nineveh. This land is a desperate land, still finding their identity since its birth. The country is 97% Muslims and little tolerance for other religious minorities.  Your partnership in prayers for those who are still unengaged with the Gospel is very encouraging. We praise God for you.

We praise God for five training events for Pastors & lay leaders that took place in the summer months. Traveling to new cities and towns, meeting both old and new Friends and Brothers was very rewarding.

We praise God for a week long training Camp for both young and old. There were 93 people who came from all parts of the country. The best part of this Camp was that even those who have not yet put their faith in Him, still came to be a part of this.

We praise God for even the unrest and hostile environment here, as this provides more opportunities to speak the truth of the Scriptures.

We praise God for our third book which was published and is ready to be used. Of course with careful and prayerful distribution.

We praise God for one of our brother who was going to teach Hebrew language course in the month of August, however, this has been put forward due to a road accident. He was on his motorbike and a car hit him from behind. Both of his legs were fractured and serious other bodily wounds yet the Lord has saved his life. We know this was a deliberately caused accident. This was a shocking and very painful news to us all. (Needless to say our plan to teach Hebrew language is on hold).

We praise God for the rest of our Libraries activities, like face to face evangelism, weekly Library meetings,  Scripture distribution, S.D. Card distribution, Bible Study groups, publication of study booklet and books, training, teaching, preaching of His Word is going well.

Prayers:
Please join us in prayer for two of our brothers who have lost their wives to cancer.  Please pray for comfort and peace of the Lord for these families and their friends. Pray for deep understanding of life which is on loan to us from our Father. Pray for us all to honor our Lord knowing well that “My times are in Your hand” (Ps. 31:15)

Pray for one other brother who is missing from past 4 years. Another painful event that is heavy on our hearts. Pray for safe return of this young man to his family. His mother is asking those who have kidnapped him from his work place to please send the body of her son so that the family can move forward. They are pleading with them not to keep them waiting for the return of this son. We are asking you to please join us in prayer for our brother’s safe return to his family.

Pray for another brother who has suffered a stroke. He is one of our teacher in the Library. Pray for his recovery. Pray for his family especially for his wife that she will come to know the truth of the Gospel. Only our brother is a believer and not his family.

Pray for our media team who are working hard on different projects. We are preparing to actively engage the unengaged by using Social Media. Much wisdom is needed to do this task. The Media team is in need of two laptop computers. Right now they are using pretty old computers. Pray that the Lord will provide.

Pray for Jennifer’s heart. After medical tests, we are told by the Dr. that there is no change in her heart condition. It is at the same level as last year. This is good news in a way. Please pray for her health to improve in days to come.

Pray for Jonah as the new wave of death threats have increased in recent days. In the light of growing opposition to our work from unfriendly elements, we ask for your prayer for wisdom for us as we deal with this situation.

Pray for those who do not understand who they are persecuting. They are not persecuting Christians but Christ the Lord.

Pray for those who are unable to find jobs because of their faith in the Lord. We are doing our best to help as much as it is possible.

Most workers (Western) are facing visa hardship these days. Many of them have been asked to leave. This is a challenge for us all. There is real need for more workers. Please pray for more workers to come and join the work.

Thank you again for your love and care and we appreciate you all.
