Hello Friends! It's time to update you again and express our deep thanks for all your love and prayers.  We feel really honored to represent your love and commitment to the Gospel by loving the local church here, introducing people to Jesus, and walking with our neighbors in difficult circumstances. We hope you are encouraged by what God's love is doing in Athens. *see below* Please reach out to us any time with questions. We are sending you all our warmest greetings as you begin the holiday season. Thanks for reading.
Love, the Kirklands

gre3MTW Global Disaster Relief team cleaning up soot (3 months after the fire!)

gre4Solidarity- several Mati fire survivors posted this note to the California fire victims in a recent tweet.

Many of you prayed for us this past summer when devastating forest fires tore through Greece. Now it’s our turn to pray for those so terribly affected by the recent fires in California. Last month our team helped host a MTW Global Disaster Response team that came to help with cleanup efforts in the small town of Mati where many homes were destroyed. Limited resources and government corruption has made rebuilding and cleanup very difficult. The team targeted families in the community that our local churches have been visiting regularly since the fires. Through serving them, we were also able to connect with others and begin new friendships with these people who have lost so much.

Church Plant

gre5We enjoyed a sweet time of singing together at our recent multicultural lunch.

Thank you for your continued prayers for the Greek Intercultural Church Plant. This year in addition to the Chinese and Farsi Bible studies that have been started, we have begun meeting regularly for prayer and looking for an initial meeting and office space. Please pray with us for Greek families who would join the core group as well as English and Greek Bible studies to be started in the New Year.

Counseling Ministry

gre6Opportunities for counseling and training here continue. In September Joy helped to lead a three day seminar on trauma awareness and self care for ministry teams working with refugees across Europe (see photo above).  If you would like to hear more about Joy’s local ministry in refugee care and anti-trafficking or her social justice and mercy coordination role in MosaiX Europe, please email her and she would be happy to put you on a list to receive more detailed updates.

Our Growing MTW Team

gre7Alison arriving in Greece!

We are grateful for amazing team mates! In September we welcomed Alison (back left). Hannah (back right) and husband Joe (not pictured) just celebrated their first year in Greece. These three are a huge blessing to our family and to the ministry here!

Family Life

gre8A moment of sibling bliss even after a long day of trying to get our visa renewal approved.
(We did get it approved for another 3 years!)

This is our favorite thing to talk about! We are so thankful that many of you love and care for us and our kids personally. Thank you for praying for us and for caring about how we are doing. We are really grateful for each other and for you, and we are doing well. Check out Nora’s YouTube channel- AegeanBlue. Below is a recent painting by Everly, and soccer and guitar are keeping Abraham busy.
