Thank you for praying!

Here’s some of what we’ve heard following Sunday’s launch service.

I never thought I’d be able to worship the Lord again in Farsi!”
”I was so excited to be a part of this service- I felt like I was flying all day!”
”It felt like we were a family together.”

Hello dear friends!
We wanted to say a special thank you to all of you who prayed and sent messages of encouragement last week when we had our first worship service for the Greek Intercultural church plant! God really blessed our time and answered so many of your prayers as we faced last minute challenges and obstacles. We thank God that our core group experienced such joy, peace, and unity during that time despite the pressure of pulling things together.

Last Sunday we were 30 people from 13 countries! We sang and read God’s Word in many languages and then listened to God’s Word preached from Matthew 11 in Greek. Our current strategy is to meet one Sunday a month until the spring when God willing we will begin meeting each week. For our first service we invited only people that we were already reading the Bible with or that we had been in active conversation with about the church. In the month of November we will make a broader invitation to contacts and friends,
and we expect more people to attend.

Please keep praying with us and for us as we need the Lord’s help, guidance and protection in everything related to these next steps. Thank you again for praying and rejoicing with us!

Praise God for:
1. Great attendance for our first gathering even without advertising the church or its opening!
2. A feeling of peace and unity despite challenges
3. That many people who attended expressed a feeling of welcome and safety in our midst.

Please continue to pray for:
1. Strength and unity in our core group
2. Philip as he prepares messages in Greek
3. The Greek church planter intern and his wife that may join us this summer.
