Dear Prayer Supporters,

We give thanks to report that our first Sunday service went well! Thank you for praying! We had around 30 people in attendance, including kids. We sang songs led by Jennifer on the piano, Thomas preached in Mandarin while our coworkers led a kids program, and we ate lunch together. Lord willing, we'll continue to do this the first Sunday of each month for the foreseeable future, and the other weeks we'll have our regular Wednesday night worship led by our partnering church. Hopefully next year we can transition the Sunday service to twice a month. We covet your prayers for our next service on October 1 - for good attendance and for God to open many eyes to the light of the knowledge of the glory of Christ. Lately, idol worship has been intense in our area due to Ghost Month, with many we know struggling to leave that dark life behind.

Here's other news and prayer needs:
--One of our key families was facing intense marriage troubles, and the husband actually called and asked for our help. This was a rare occurrence, as women are much more likely to seek help than men! Thomas met with the man and Jennifer with the woman. They seemed to appreciate our assistance, and the man finally came back to church as a result. Please pray for this family, Snow and her husband, Mr. Su. We're praying Mr. Su will continue to attend church.
--Jennifer has had numerous Gospel opportunities in her aerobics class to share Bible stories and testimonies. Pray for open hearts!
--Jennifer has been doing a weekly Bible study with a single woman, Claire. Pray for her eyes to open as she is very devoted to her idols
--A woman named JING, a fairly devout Buddhist, has asked Jennifer to do a weekly Bible study with her. Pray for wisdom as Jennifer studies and shares with her.
--Thomas will be in Hong Kong Sept. 24-29 for a training course. Pray the children will stay healthy & happy as Jennifer holds down the fort.
-PRAISE GOD that YAN's husband, who previously threatened her with divorce if she came to church, is now OK with her coming! Thanks for your prayers!

With thanksgiving for your prayers & financial partnership,
 Thomas & Jennifer

McInt3sThomas visits a local tree farmer (who is a Christian) to drink tea and pray for his business. Mr. Liu and his wife, from our partnering church, have been a blessing to our ministry. His wife is from China, and she has helped another Chinese bride in our ministry who has faced significant challenges.
