Dear prayer supporters,

Thank you for praying for our Thanksgiving outreach. We had a big turnout (see above picture), especially considering we did it during our Sunday morning worship service. We shared the good news, met with new and old friends, and thanked God for His many blessings. We were especially grateful that Ashlee dedicated her life to Christ that day, and shared her testimony with all the people there. Here's how you can pray this month as Christmas approaches.

1) We have about 10 different outreaches this month (in addition to our normal work), with a short-term team from Singapore coming to assist. As our coworkers pack to leave for their home assignment, we'll be handling everything on our own. Please pray for us as we juggle many of these responsibilities, as well as our regular duties of leading worship, preaching, assisting with Sunday school. and leading one-on-one Bible studies. We long for the Gospel to reach Zhongpu and for God to build His church here. Would you pray with us? We work hard, but ultimately only God can bring the growth.

2) Our "exit plan" to eventually pass off our church to local leadership in the coming years has hit a snag. We are in discussions with two possible local pastors, but it is hard to gauge their interest, and funding a salary is a problem for one of the options, as many of our members are jobless or not in a position to tithe. Please pray for God to provide local leadership and for our church members to give generously to God's work. Our prayer is for God to provide someone soon so that we can work side-by-side in the next few years to help with a smooth transition. We had our first coworker meeting with our 4 newly-appointed leaders/elders last week! Praise God for this big step. If God will allow us to complete the work here, we are eager to do another church plant in an another unreached area of Chiayi County.

3) Please pray that 2019 would be a year full of new baptisms. Many of our believers have still yet to be baptized because of opposition from family.

4) Thank you for those who gave generously to our study Bible project. We have purchased the study Bibles, and created bookmarks (see picture below) that explain "how to study the Bible." The class will be held every Friday night in January, and 13 adults have expressed interest. Pray for this to really help people feel confident that they can study the Bible on their own.

Merry Christmas,
Thomas & Jennifer (see pictures below)
