Dear Prayer Supporters,

Greetings from a VERY hot & humid Taiwan!

Lately, Jennifer has had a burden to pray daily for several women on the fringes of our church. They're unable to attend regularly for reasons that correspond with the Parable of the Sower, but all have significant interest in becoming Christians. We challenge you to join Jennifer in regular prayer for them according to the Parable:

The Two Among Rocks
YAN is being persecuted by her husband, who has threatened to divorce and deport her if she comes to church
LI, formerly in the army, has a husband who has threatened to beat her and their son if they do not worship idols

The Two Among Weeds
GIA is busy balancing her full-time job with caring for her two young children without much help from her husband. She is convinced that life has been unfair and that if God is real, He wouldn't allow her to suffer so much.
JEAN has a high-pressure job where she often gets home after 8 p.m. and is also the primary caregiver for her kids. Her busy, hectic lifestyle often keeps her from coming to church.

Also, Jennifer has started an evangelistic dance aerobics class at our Gospel Center, which has been a rather shocking success. It is the first time we have ever had so many Taiwanese husbands encourage their wives to go to church! More than 20 women showed up for the first class (see picture above), and two of them subsequently came to our Wednesday night worship for the first time. Please pray that the hearts of these women (most of whom have never encountered Christianity before) will soften as Jennifer shares stories about God and Jesus with them.

In other news, please pray as we transition to a Sunday service once a month. The first one will be September 3 and Thomas will preach on the wise and foolish builders in Mandarin (from Matthew 7). Pray for strong attendance, open hearts, and good communication. We'll have a big fellowship meal afterwards. Thomas will also travel to Hong Kong September 24-29 for a training conference. Pray that it proves to be helpful for our work.

Your partners in mission,
 Thomas & Jennifer

Scooters max out the parking lot at the Gospel center for Jen's aerobics class.

The aerobics class is filled to the point where we can't accept any more people as we don't have enough space!

mcinaug4Jennifer shares the story of how Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead in the park to a large crowd. Praise God the weather has cooperated the past few weeks to allow us to do this ministry.

mcinaug5Thomas' English class on the book of Jonah concluded with a group picture.

mcinaug6We also had a fellowship meal with the English class - spaghetti and karaoke! Lord willing, we will have another month-long class each Friday in September if enough students sign up.

Ashlee has enjoyed her cram school during the summer and is eagerly anticipating 1st grade at her new Chinese school starting August 30. Pray for a good transition.
