CELEBRATING ROMANS IN THE DRC

The first week on the border was exactly what we asked God to perform in the week of training. Our team was overwhelmed with the intensity of interest, the perceptiveness of questions, especially the hunger to take God's Word back to their people. Each time they taught the lesson back in summary before us, it was impressive to see the detail and accuracy of communicating what we have taught. That is encouraging.

One pastor approached Dave Forbes and said that some people in his church had irreconcilable disagreements and most of them were family related. Family members had not spoken to each other for years!

After hearing Romans, he said that learning the way God has forgiven us apart from our own sins and depravity against Him had brought him to an understating. He now said that there is no excuse for us to have irreconcilable differences based on what God has done for us (grace). He was going to take that message back to these families. He was very clear about that.

The great teachings of Romans brings changes concerning the grasp of our own sins and the greatness of His Grace. The result of this new understanding has already begun to change lives.

Pleaser pray for Joel, Dave, and Matt for this week in Kigali:

1. Clarity in communicating and understanding of the message so that they can teach these truths to their peers and churches.

2. Continued safety and health.

3. Dramtic progress in the churches concerning a new understanding of the Work of Christ in the Gospel and how God's grace changes sinners into saints.

God always moves in the hearts of His People to provide what is needed. Once again God has moved the heart of a sister in Christ and used her as His vessel to provide funding to purchase new Kinyarwanda Study Bibles for these leaders of leaders. The lack of resources in the Congo is a hardship for these men who love Christ and His church. Now these brothers possess in their hands an awesome collection of commentary, concordance, pictures, maps, in depth theological and biblical articles.
When they first received these Bibles they held them high and celebrated over the gift.  Their faces tell the story as the Study Bibles are held close to their hearts.
