Dear Christ Covenant,
Maggie and I are excited to share that we have officially been approved by MTW and by God’s great goodness, we have been invited to join a church planting team in Honduras.  We are really excited about this transition and getting to serve along side my brother Aaron and the growing church plant.  Lord is really blessing the ministry in Honduras and we look forward to being a part of what the Lord is doing in Honduras.  My role will be overseeing internships, leading short term teams, building relationships with ministries already doing good work in the city, serving the church in diaconal roles, and assisting with administrative duties. Our family has also seen the value of genuine hospitality, and we look to serve the church plant by inviting people into our home and investing in the lives of those around us with the generosity of our time and space.

This past Saturday, after much prayer and discussion with the leadership on the field, we decided to go to Honduras for a site visit.  Our hopes were to visit the church plant and meet some of the members, meet the whole Honduras team, both in Tegucigalpa and in La Ceiba, gain a better idea of what life in Honduras might look like, and visit some of the ministries with whom the church is working.  Thankfully we were able to attend church and meet some of the members, but starting Sunday evening, Honduras closed its borders and required people to stay in their homes until this coming Sunday, when they will reassess the situation.  We are staying with my brother Aaron and their family and were allowed to leave the house yesterday to buy groceries.  We are hoping that they open the boarder again on Monday and that flights to the US resume.  At this point, Delta has us scheduled on a flight on April 1.  That was the soonest they could get us on a flight.  We should know more about how things are shaping up on Monday.

While we didn’t get to accomplish all our stated goals for this trip, our kids have loved getting to spend time with their cousins here in Honduras.  The whole family has gotten to practice Spanish.  We have gotten a glimpse at life in Honduras, even though it hasn’t been normal life.  We have been very grateful for our time here and all the Lord has allowed us to experience and learn.

Praise
-Praise the Lord with us for the final approval with MTW and our invite to serve along side the church plant in Honduras.
-Thank the Lord that we are well and safe here in Honduras and that we are all getting an extended vision trip.
-Praise the Lord with us about the excitement of coming transition to life in Honduras.

Prayer
-Please pray that we would rest more deeply in the sovereignty of the Lord.We would ask you to pray for our eventual return to the US.
-Pray for our fundraising process and that we trust in the Lord. I confess that I tend to worry about support raising in general and given all that is going on in the world today, I am fighting to continually trust that the Lord will provide the needed funds.

For the sake of Him in all the nations,
