Community Groups are designed to build Godly, loving relationships within the church that are committed to knowing, loving, and serving Jesus Christ. These groups are built around community, recognizing our need for others to encourage, challenge, and support us in faith as we wrestle with the difficulties, joys, and unknowns of life. Community Groups are for active members of Christ Covenant who desire to live life together. If you are visiting or have only been attending Christ Covenant for a few months, we ask that you first get involved in Sunday service, Sunday School, a Bible Study, Wednesday night study or other areas before considering joining or creating a Community Group.
Community Groups range from 12-14 members and typically meet outside of the church. Each group determines the day, time, frequency and location they would like to meet. There are three ways one can get involved in a group.
- Create: start a new group and gather those who you like to live alongside
- Invitation: you are asked to join a new or existing group
- Placed: the church places you in a group with an opening
If you are interested in being a part of a Community Group, we strongly encourage you to consider starting a new group. This is the fastest and most effective way to begin participating in a Community Group. If you would like to start a new group or if you are interested in joining an existing group, please e-mail Chris Pifer at cpifer@christcov.org. He will reach out to you for further discussion.
If you are new to Christ Covenant and are interested in getting involved in a small group, please consider joining a Wednesday night study. This group meets in classroom E at the church from 6:00 – 7:30. Childcare is provided, and it is a great way to meet Christ Covenant members and begin getting involved!
