Residency Update
Our residency process is finally nearing its end! Earlier this year our lawyer got us an appointment with immigration to submit all our documents on November 17th. On Monday she came by my office and we signed all the paperwork, submitted photos, and made sure everything was in order. We assumed that we would have to be at the immigration office at 9am on the 17th, but, to our surprise, we found out we didn't have to go. The immigration office gave out a certain number of appointments directly to immigration lawyers, so our lawyer presented our documents without our having to be present! We excited to let you know that our documents were accepted and we are now officially "in process" which means we don't have to leave the country every 90 days anymore!

Family Update
The kids are doing well in school as they approach the middle of their school year. It is hard to believe how quickly the time passes! Of course, they each face their challenges in different areas but they are learning and growing. You can pray for Julie as she is the one who deals with organizing and grading each day's work.

Julie's physical therapy has been going well and the exercises that she has been given have helped. She has had to slightly reduce the number of times she works out, but she is still teaching all her Refit classes. Both Julie's Wednesday and Friday night classes are full! We are excited about how God is using these classes as opportunities for women to hear the gospel. Please pray for Julie, especially as she prepares devotionals in Spanish to give after each class.

You may be aware that we attend a Presbyterian church here. There are not very many Presbyterian churches around and ours is small. I help with preaching responsibilities (I preached through the book of Ruth in October) and with a short reflection on a question from the Westminster Shorter Catechism on Sunday mornings. On Sunday evenings I am leading a study on Spiritual Disciplines using the book Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life by Donald Whitney. They study is very practical and has been encouraging to those who attend each week. If you are interested in the book you can click the title above.

As a Presbyterian church, we ordain elders through a process of examination. Recently two men (Edgar and Miguel) sat for a portion of their ordination exams (Bible, Theology, and Sacraments) and I was able to be present. While they did well on some portions, they did not pass all their exams which means they will need to be reexamined. Both Edgar and Miguel were disappointed but we will continue to work with them and evaluate the way they are preparing. We trust the Lord will continue to call men to the gospel ministry as we seek to establish more churches and, eventually, a Presbytery.
