FOUR CONFERENCES TOUCHING THREE NATIONS

Christ was clearly present in this past month, and through your prayers and partnership with me, so were you!

This was the first time I taught the second half of Romans.  In each conference I reviewed the first half of Romans to tie the book together (justification which leads to sanctification in the Christian life).  Many practical matters were taught, the views of the pastors were constantly challenged to align with the teaching of God's Word in Romans.  During times of questions and healthy debates among themselves, they emerged in each conference with an awareness of change in pastoral roles and content for preaching. They had begun learning how to teach and counsel their people in Christian living in a more biblical fashion.

Already, I am planning to return to teach the top leaders early next year who will in turn instruct and mentor their peers on an even deeper level.  Additionally I plan to travel to another region with Jim Barnes to teach a  two week course in a University on Disicplemaking and Gift assessment.

I want to thank you for your love and encouragement to me in this work with leaders in East Africa.  God bless you! Around 600 pastors and leaders have been taught the Word of God and the fruit is already growing in these regions.  I know because I learn about it each time I return.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS AS COMMUNICATED...

RWANDA JULY 2017
We see this teaching as a big tool to help the churches deal with the heresies creeping into the church."

UGANDA AUGUST 2017
It has been a challenge to me.  But now I see how I can live as a Christian.”

I have learned for the first time how I can live with people who do not know Christ.  For you see, where I was coming from I had decided not to go back. Because I was [formerly]  a drug addict and alcoholic.  But now I know, how will they know if I do not go back and tell them? God bless you.”

I learned that faith is the pipe through which we get salvation. Number two, I have learned that as a pastor I must be relational.  As we read from the book of Romans 16, how Paul was relating to people from different nationalities, men, women…”

I learned much about forgiveness…to leave space for God to work…I always ask ‘What does this mean?’”

How deep you go.  We are always learning…Though we are learning the scriptures, though we sometimes have gone to school…but when it comes to the Bible (in what we learned), this is different."

JMA2Martin Martin teaching on the radio broadcasting into DR Congo and Uganda.

Many opportunities from the Lord presented themselves to the teams. In Rwanda, in addition to the conferences, we preached in two different churches. In Uganda, our schedule was also packed.  Martin taught early (6:30AM) Sunday morning on the radio. This was followed up with two worship services: Wendell Stoltzfus preached at the first, I preached in the second (pictures below).
