Coffee Talk  with Marc & Denise Atchley

We are so appreciative for the prayers that many of you are offering on our behalf.  God has provided us with a transitional house that will allow us to more easily sell our home and be ready to leave at a moment's notice.  He has also provided Greek friends - both here and in Greece - who are helping our family prepare for the change.  And He is beginning to provide the resources necessary to turn our vision into a reality.

But as you continue to pray for us, will you please also pray for Greece?  As we've noted previously, evangelical believers are a small (and historically marginalized) minority in Greece, numbering only 30,000-40,000 in a population of roughly 11 million.  And these brothers and sisters are suffering through the country's interminable financial crisis with the rest of the population. Please pray, not only for a great Spiritual awakening, but also for an economic recovery ... even as He may use this hardship to bring people to Himself.

Please pray for our teammates Brad & Jamie Newport who are in the midst of Operation Joshua -- a week-long effort to take the New Testament (in Modern Greek) to 150,000 homes in 630 villages throughout the prefectures of Greneva, Trikala, and Larissa in rural Greece. Operation Joshua is an annual campaign of Hellenic Ministries, TEAM's national partner in Greece. Click here for more information.

AT HOME is an emerging initiative of the Greek Evangelical Church of Glyfada, the congregation with which we hope to minister closely there in the Glyfada community.  Please pray that God will utilize this ministry to bring many people to Himself.

In recent years, Greece has become as famous for immigrants and riots as it is for history and beauty.  But what's important to know about the present situation in Greece is the toll that the continued economic crisis is having on the people and what is being done (or not being done) at an international level to provide an appropriate remedy.  This short article on Slate (click here) sheds some light on both.  While directing the course of events may be above the pay grade for most of us, we can pray to the One who has all the authority and power to do whatever He wills!
